HISTORY
Sam is the second son born to John and Mary Winchester. At sixth months old, the youngest Winchester was visited by Azazel due to an agreement between the demon and Sam’s mother. That night Mary met her untimely demise, causing John to assume the life of a hunter.
His childhood proved to be difficult, and Sam felt out of place among his peers. Constantly moving from state to state, he was removed from schools as fast as he had been enrolled, unable to build long-lasting and meaningful friendships; his brother, Dean, proved to be his closest confidante.
However, it was not until age eight did Sam become aware of his father’s occupation as a hunter. He desperately yearned for an ordinary life and such a discovery merely intensified his desire to accomplish that. Nevertheless, he could not leave his family. For several years, Sam halfheartedly followed John’s instructions and gradually crossed the threshold into the world of a hunter.
Luckily, Sam took advantage of his adulthood once he turned eighteen, choosing a path of his own. He attended Stanford University, finally attaining the normalcy he had wished for. In the course of his studies, he met Jessica Moore and their relationship blossomed into a worthwhile romance; the two eventually moved in with one another, sharing an apartment in Palo Alto.
Four years passed before Sam was forced back into hunting. Reluctantly, he left the safety of his home and Jessica’s side in order to help Dean locate their father. The hunt was useless, and Sam's life changed drastically upon his return; his girlfriend of two-and-a half years was set aflame right in front of his eyes. A part of Sam still regrets parting ways with his former girlfriend; the image of her splayed across the ceiling and engulfed in flames haunting him till this very day.
Jessica’s death spurred Sam to resume hunting alongside his brother, aiming to locate the demon responsible to exact revenge. They protected many people, saving innocent lives on a daily basis. While they have overcome Azazel, Lilith, and Ruby, Lucifer's Cage has been opened; allowing the devil to walk the Earth. With the Apocalypse set in motion, Sam is determined to bring the end of the world to a standstill.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
"Same,” Sam replied. He and Dean had driven into town the evening prior, drawn to Edgefield by the currently unsolved murders and steadily rising death toll. The victims’ hearts had been extracted from their bodies and the hunter believed the culprit was a werewolf. They had not encountered a werewolf in nearly a year and their current case managed to reopen old wounds as he clearly recalled Madison, a woman he had been grudgingly forced to kill. He wanted nothing more than for the hunt to draw to a close, so he did not have to dwell on such depressing recollections. Dean’s predicament was severely stressing the youngest Winchester and their newest job merely furthered the day-to-day anxiety.
Glancing at Shiloh, he was thankful to have come across the young woman. She lightened the usually dismal atmosphere and he could use a distraction from the seriousness his life had recently assumed. A genuine smile graced his features as he listened to her, Shiloh’s voice resonating pleasantly within his ears. “Hey, let me pay,” he insisted. “I owe you anyway.” The two hunted with one another previously, and she had saved him singlehandedly; Dean remained passed out on the floor the entire time—Sam never let him live that one down, and his brother always managed to come up with an undignified response, which amused him further.
He continued to watch Shiloh, wondering if he should ask her to join both him and Dean. They were all three hunters and there was safety in numbers; for some reason it unsettled him to know that she was tracking such dangerous creatures by herself. She was an impressive hunter—after all, he had seen her at work firsthand—though it still caused him some discomfort.
